Jia Johnson
Freedom Dream Coach + Consultant
It is my deepest intention to partner with social changemakers to create sustainable practices that tend to their holistic needs (material, emotional, spiritual, relational, physical, political, etc.) to transform their lives, their families, and their communities.
If you are passionate about this, I would love to meet you.
Welcome to the Freedom Dream Collective, where transformation begins, and authentic living thrives.
I am Jia Johnson. At the end of 2020, I suffered from a severe burnout. On the morning of my first day of "vacation,” I woke up to utter emptiness. I had never felt that kind of emptiness before. And I was fearful. Between the pandemic, social change work, responding to family crises, and the death of my furry pet companion, I was utterly depleted.
I had suffered from burnout many times before, but I vowed it would be different this time. As a mixed-race woman of color, I watched women of color around me abandon themselves in pursuit of caring for those around them. Like most social changemakers past and present, particularly women of color, I depleted myself in the service of others.
I was asking myself questions like:
-
How can I balance my commitment to social change while taking care of my own well-being?
-
Are there practical techniques or tools to help me prioritize my work and manage my time more efficiently?
-
How can I maintain a sense of purpose and impact when facing seemingly insurmountable challenges?
-
What resources or practices can help me continue my personal growth and learning journey?
My journey towards holistic well-being started with spending a few minutes in silent meditation a week, defining my boundaries, reframing limiting beliefs, speaking affirmations, visualizing my goals, honoring my intuitive knowing, aligning with my core values, and letting go of what no longer aligned.
At first, honoring my boundaries felt like an electric fence,
but with healing and growth, I learned to hold them gently while staying true to my authentic self. The more I honored alignment, the more inner peace I discovered. This was a new chapter of living a life of ease and nourishment while doing the work my soul must have done.
You’re in the right place if you crave authenticity, ease, and nourishment. The Freedom Dream Collective is a haven for changemakers and, in particular, for BIPOC people committed to social change. It's a place for you to imagine, create, and embody your authentic self while manifesting your Freedom Dreams for personal and collective transformation.
I'm excited for you to join this journey, share experiences, and witness your growth and transformation.
Welcome to the Freedom Dream Collective, where we redefine our lives one step at a time.
