Jia is a somatic practitioner, energy healer, social entrepreneur, writer, and speaker.
Jia Johnson brings extensive experience across nonprofit, corporate, and community collaborations. She is the passionate founder and CEO of Freedom Dream Collective, LLC, a dynamic coaching and consulting firm dedicated to fostering the growth and well-being of individuals and communities. She is also the founder of Freedom to Flourish, nonprofit, committed to offering somatic practices BIPOC changemakers.
Jia takes a holistic somatic approach, addressing the interconnected well-being of clients and communities, partnering with them to slow down long enough to listen for the inherent wisdom of their body. We live in a culture urgency that invites us to be deeply disconnected from the fullness of our bodies in relationship to the wider web of life that we are to are a par of. We miss out on all the aliveness around us. Collaborating with clients to create nourishing practices for holistic, transformative change, clients begin to take constant action towards what they care about most, aligning their values and longing with who they care about most.
In recent years Johnson was the founding director of the Solidarity Building Initiative for Liberative Carceral Education at McCormick Theological Seminary, higher education in jail program, and adjunct, facilitating courses and workshops on spiritual activism and social change.
Jia holds a Master of Arts in Public Ministry from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. She is a graduate of the Inner Glow Circle coach training program. She is a International Coaching Federation (ICF) Associate Certified Coach (ACC).
She completed the Mind-Body somatic Coaching Certification at The Embodiment Lab in 2024. Jia is a Level 2 Shamanic Reiki Practitioner from the linage of Sista Shamon, a Level 1 Tantra Meditation Guide form the lineage of Tracee Stanley, and a grief tender, from the lineage of Francis Weller. She is on the Paqo Inca Shamanism path, rooted in the sacred lineage of the Apaza family in Cusco, Peru. She completed the Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy Certificate and Applied Polyvagal Theory in Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma Recovery from The Embody Lab Additionally, she has studied intuitive development with Kim Chestney, Shelia Vijeyarasa, and Lisa Campion, and shamanic journeying with Sandra Ingerman.
